Finally a boom that works for my needs.

I have tried a couple other microphone booms and this finally meets my needs.I run two fairly heavy mics (Blue Yeti & a Shure MV7) both with shock mounts and pop filters/windscreens. Cheap booms just weren't working well for me, the weight would constantly have the mics slowly falling down (my previous solution was to mount the microphone so the lowest position it could fall was where I wanted but that left the arm in a bit awkward position. Even if I could get my previous booms to work the microphones wobbled all over the place.This boom arm has decent cable management, it holds its position and although the mic will move will my table a bit it holds better than anticipated and the position doesn't move from where I set it. Next plus is a bit of a strange one but I have this on mounted on the post from an Amazon basics monitor mount (I believe these are manufactured by ergotron) instead of the included post, this is perfect because it allows me to share my post and move everything around based on the tasks I am performing without having tons of different mounts on my desk wasting space. I have seen a few complaints about threads but I use the frameworks mic quick disconnects so the the wear and tear isn't really on my boom or my mics so no complaints there.

Some screws were stripped. Rotating mechanism is delicate and easily damaged

One of my allen wrench screws was partially stripped -- the allen wrench provided was too small for the hole. I believe that Amazon probably sent me something that was used/returned. Luckily, I have extra allen wrenches of various sizes, so I decided to keep the product anyway.The rotating mechanism near the mic connection is very fragile and delicate. There's a screw that clamps down on a metal piece to hold it in place. This was a bad design choice. Not only is it easily damaged, but it prevented me from attaching mic extenders without stripping the mechanism further.I keep the arm set at the lowest height, and I wish there was a way to detach the excess amount on the pole.Overall, it does the job - which is the bare minimum. Unfortunately, I wish I had bought a different product.

Great mic stand but one drawback.

The only thing I don't like about this mic stand is that where the boom arm attaches to the main tube, you can't tighten it up enough for the arm to pivot at the first joint right at the tube. it just slide on the tube, meaning that you can't place the arm higher than the bottom of the tube. Other than that, I give it a 6 out of 5 stars
